Dr Magatte Ndiaye

Scientific Coordinator of the West African Regional Centre, University Cheikh Anta Diop

Dr Magatte Ndiaye has been the Scientific Coordinator of WWARN’s West African Regional Centre since 2016. He is an Associate Professor of Parasitology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD) and Principal Investigator of the potential impact of seasonal malaria chemoprevention on drug resistance and immunity development. Dr Ndiaye has experience strengthening the research capacity of young African scientists and has been the Chair of the Senegalese National Young Academy of Sciences since 2016. Before joining WWARN Dr Ndiaye undertook a postdoctoral fellowship at UCAD, University of Copenhagen and Denmark, and was a co-investigator on a project to develop a non-invasive molecular method for malaria surveillance in Senegal.
