Trials that require participants to be admitted to a clinical trial facility in groups for a period of days (such as trials with intensive pharmacokinetic sampling schedules, early phase trials, drug interaction trials with healthy volunteers etc.) require careful planning to ensure that everything is in place by the time of admission and that time-critical tasks such as dosing, PK blood sampling and other assessments may proceed without delay. This procedure therefore describes the process for ensuring that issues such as stock, equipment, staff, participants and venue are adequately prepared for scheduled ward admission periods.
