It is important that staff who may be called upon to manage a medical emergency in a clincal trial facility have regular training to ensure they are up to date with current recommended practices and able to efficiently manage a variety of cases that may present. This procedure therefore describes the process for assuring competency in the emergency medical response provided by trial team members through emergency scenario training. It is particularly important for sites conducting early-phase trials when advance planning is critical.
