WWARN and Sanofi agree data sharing collaboration

January 19 2012, Oxford: The WorldWide Antimalarial Resistance Network (WWARN) today announces that Sanofi has agreed to  contribute data to WWARN’s central database of information relating to antimalarial drug resistance, underlining their commitment to the  global fight against malaria.

Oxford, April 7, 2011: The WorldWide Antimalarial Resistance Network (WWARN) today launches a suite of online tools that will give an up-to-date and global picture of the emergence and spread of antimalarial resistance.

WWARN is appealing to malaria researchers around the world to collaborate on sharing data and to use these tools to monitor and control the disease.

Oxford, UK; 30 April 2010: A new initiative to assure and improve the quality of pharmacology and in vitro data from laboratories investigations patient responses to antimalarial drugs has been launched by the WorldWide Antimalarial Resistance Network (WWARN).

Oxford, UK; 12 June 2009: An international network of malaria scientists is to be established to map the emergence of resistance to antimalarial drugs and guide global efforts to control and eradicate the disease, thanks to a $20m (£12.5m) grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
