Head of Advocacy and Fundraising

Dr Tate was appointed in August 2009. Following an international academic career researching the molecular basis of virus infection and gene expression, Dr Tate moved into the biopharmaceutical sector where she has held a number of commercial, fundraising, marketing and communications roles. She took an active role in establishing eight companies, including raising funds in excess of £30 million in the private and public sectors. As Commercial Director for Antisoma, she was part of the team that successfully placed the company’s shares on the London Stock Exchange in 1999. She became Head of Investor Relations for Antisoma and subsequently SkyePharma, managing the reputation and advocacy programmes of both companies. Dr Tate worked as an independent consultant for most of the six years prior to joining WWARN.
