Head of Operations and Development

Dr Branston joined WWARN in June 2011 as the Head of Operations and Development.  Dr Branston’s background is research administration and development, particularly within tropical medicine. Dr Branston will oversee WWARN operations, leading, developing and implementing strategies to shape the organization and its future activities. Before joining WWARN Dr Branston was based in Thailand as Senior Research Administrator for Mahidol Oxford’s research unit in Bangkok.  She has over five years’ experience working for major funders and has worked for both the Wellcome Trust as a Science Portfolio Adviser in the Immunology and Infectious Disease Funding Stream and for DEFRA, part of the UK government.  She graduated from Bath University with a degree in biochemistry and completed a PhD in Molecular Pathology at University College London.
